Carter, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB1660 by Farrar (Relating to the fine or penalty for the violation of a rule, ordinance, or police regulation.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Local Government Impact The bill would add to the rules and ordinances for which a municipality may charge a fine of no more than $2,000, rules and ordinances governing municipal beautification. The bill would take effect September 1, 2001 and would apply only to violations committed on or after that date. Municipalities would experience a revenue gain of up to $2,000 per offense under the statute. The total amount of revenue gain would vary depending on the number of violations committed, persons caught, and what level of fine would be levied within the $2,000 limit.
