The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating the offense of theft by a
caretaker. Punishment for the offense would range from a Class C
misdemeanor to a felony of the first degree, depending on the value of
the property stolen.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
