The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating the offense of permitting
an unsafe workplace. An offense under this bill would be punishable as
a state jail felony unless the offense causes the death of an employee,
in which event the offense would be a felony of the third degree.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
