The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to allow a
person wrongfully imprisoned to collect all reasonable attorney's fees
incurred by the claimant in connection with associated criminal
proceedings and appeals, the claimant's discharge from imprisonment, and
prosecuting the lawsuit under this chapter, in addition to the damages
currently recoverable under the Code.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
