"Pete" Laney, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB2004 by Maxey (Relating to the medication a patient receives after being furloughed or discharged from inpatient mental health services.), As Passed 2nd House ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would amend Section 574, Court-Ordered Mental Health Services of the Health and Safety Code by adding to the continuing care plan before furlough or discharge the requirement that the plan address the patient's mental health and physical needs by including a plan for the patient to acquire sufficient medication to last until the patient can see a physician, if appropriate.
