IN RE: HB2102 by Eiland (Relating to the determination of

**************************************************************************
* No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *
**************************************************************************
The change from contested case hearings to rulemaking proceedings to set
certain rates under Articles 5.101 and 21.81 of the Insurance Code would
reduce the Office of Public Insurance Counsel staff time necessary to
prepare for and participate in these hearings. In addition, the time
necessary for the agency's expert witnesses to participate in the
hearings would be reduced. These reduced expenses are estimated to be
$28,514 annually.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
