Carter, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB2133 by Deshotel (Relating to the authority of a home-rule municipality to adopt an ordinance prohibiting criminal trespass.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Local Government Impact The bill would allow a home-rule municipality to adopt an ordinance prohibiting criminal trespass within the limits of the municipality. An offense would be a Class C misdemeanor. Administrative costs for processing citations issued and costs of enforcement would be absorbed within the municipality's budget as well as somewhat offset by the fines collected.
