LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session March 15, 2001 TO: Honorable Dale B. Tillery, Chair, House Committee on Pensions & Investments FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB2211 by Farabee (Relating to participation by employees of certain community centers in the uniform group insurance program for state employees.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Local Government Impact The bill would provide an option to community centers to participate in the state's uniform group insurance program (UGIP). The centers would be responsible for paying 100 percent of the premium for an employee's basic coverage. Community centers that are paying higher costs for insurance than they would under the state's UGIP would likely choose to participate in the state program and would experience a savings. The amount of the savings would vary by center, depending on the difference between their existing costs and the costs for UGIP. Source Agencies: LBB Staff: JK, RB, SC
