This bill would require a court, where proceedings involving the same
parties are simultaneously pending in Texas and a court of another
state, to notify the other court of the Texas proceedings and request
that the court hold its proceedings in abeyance until the Texas court
holds a hearing to determine if it has jurisdiction over the matter.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
