LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session March 14, 2001 TO: Honorable Bob Turner, Chair, House Committee on Public Safety FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB2353 by Hupp (Relating to the application to certain persons of the prohibition against the carrying of a concealed handgun on the premises of a school.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would amend the Penal Code by making the offenses of places weapons prohibited, and unlawful carrying of a handgun by a license holder not apply to a principal or superintendent, licensed to carry a concealed weapon. The bill would apply in counties with a population of less than 20,000 and where the license holder is carrying a concealed weapon on the premises of a school.
