Bosse, Chair, House Committee on Civil Practices FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB2367 by Williams (Relating to the liability of certain nonprofit organizations and their employees and volunteers.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to include certain organizations that provide fire protection or prevention, emergency medical, or hazardous material response services under the definition of charitable organizations. The bill would also include a homeowners association that is exempt under federal income tax under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as a charitable organization.
