The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to include
certain organizations that provide fire protection or prevention,
emergency medical, or hazardous material response services under the
definition of charitable organizations. The bill would also include a
homeowners association that is exempt under federal income tax under
Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as a charitable
organization.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
