LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session March 27, 2001 TO: Honorable Patricia Gray, Chair, House Committee on Public Health FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB2602 by Coleman (Relating to indigent health care.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Under existing statute, the maximum income for patients in the county indigent health care program will be raised from 21% to 25% of the Federal Poverty Income Level (FPIL) on January 1, 2002. The bill would eliminate this change. The implementation of the provisions of the bill would not be likely to result in a reduction in State expenditures because State expenditures for this program are currently below the levels authorized in statute. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
