Local Government Impact

Under the provisions of the bill a student between the ages of 7 and 18
who provides a false statement against an educator may be removed to an
alternative education program or expelled. The placement appears to be
at the discretion of the district.

There could be some additional costs for districts associated with
expulsion hearings and appeals and any additional costs of serving the
students in an AEP setting. It is expected that the number of these
assignments will not be large enough to create significant additional
costs.
