May 9, 2001
TO: Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on

IN RE: HB2760 by Brown, Betty (Relating to the resolution of
disputes arising under interlocal cooperation

* No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *

Local Government Impact
The bill would allow local governments that are parties to an interlocal
contract to include in the contract the option to rely on alternative
dispute resolution procedures should a dispute arise relating to the
contract. Alternative dispute resolution would be less costly than court
actions should a dispute arise.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
