The bill would authorize the establishment of one or more pilot projects
allowing for reimbursement under Chapter 31 of the Human Resource Code
to demonstrate the application of technology in the provision of
services to certain populations. The bill amends Chapter 531 of the
Health and Safety Code which includes provisions generally applicable to
the Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation. The bill does
not specify the number of participants or whether services related to
technology would supplement or replace current services. For purposes of
this fiscal note, it is assumed that services related to technology
would replace current services.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
