The bill would require a campus police force to adopt procedures for enforcing Texas vehicle inspection laws. The bill would take effect January 1, 2002. Methodology Each vehicle emissions sticker sold generates $5.50 to the State. It is estimated that 5,908 attend college in designated emission counties with inspection stickers that were granted by another state. The vehicles of these individuals would have to be inspected in Texas to ensure that the vehicle meets Texas emission requirements. The total revenue generated by the passage of this bill would be $32,494. The revenue is split with $2 of that fee being deposited into the Clean Air Account No. 151 and $3.50 being deposited into the General Revenue Fund. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Source Agencies: LBB Staff: JK, CL, DG
