Local Government Impact

The bill would authorize a county commissioners court to set reasonable
fees for issuing permits related to roads, bridges, and water
development. The fees must be set and itemized in the county's budget as
part of the budget preparation process.

Fees could allow recovery of most or all expenses involved in the permit
process, providing a savings to the county. The savings would vary
depending on the number of permits issued and the amount set for the
fees.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
