Local Government Impact
The bill would authorize a county commissioners court to set reasonable
fees for issuing licenses, permits, or registrations authorized by
statute but for which fees are not already specified. Fees would allow
recovery of most or all expenses involved, providing a savings to the
county. The savings would vary depending on what licenses, permits, or
registrations a commissioners court would choose to charge a fee for, the
number of each issued, and the amount of the fees.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
