LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session
March 21, 2001
TO: Honorable Senfronia Thompson, Chair, House Committee on
Judicial Affairs
FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE: HB2971 by Goodman (Relating to stand-by guardianships
for certain minors.), As Introduced
**************************************************************************
* No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *
**************************************************************************
The Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (PRS) indicates that
if a court does not find that it is in the best interest to appoint the
designated stand in guardian of the minor whose parent has died, it may
create a situation where the minor would not have anyone to care for the
minor. Otherwise PRS should not be affected by this bill.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
