LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session April 5, 2001 TO: Honorable Rene Oliveira, Chair, House Committee on Ways & Means FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB3006 by Uresti (Relating to composition of the board of directors of a tax increment reinvestment zone.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would amend Section 311.009 of the Tax Code to grant additional appointment authority, with regard to reinvestment boards of directors, to taxing units that pay into a tax increment financing (TIF) fund. Taxing units that had approved the payment of all or part of the tax increment produced by the unit would have the right to appoint as many members as appointed by the city that created the reinvestment zone. The bill would provide for the appointment of a board chairman by fellow board members. As the bill addresses only the appointment of reinvestment zone boards of directors, the bill would have no impact on the state.
