The bill would require the Commissioner of Public Health to establish an
asthma and allergy research advisory committee. The bill would allow
reimbursement for reasonable and necessary travel expenses incurred by
the members of the asthma and allergy research advisory committee while
conducting the business of the committee. Reimbursement for travel and
related expenses incurred by members of the advisory committee would have
to authorized in the General Appropriations Act.

The Department of Health indicates that all costs the agency would incur
in implementing the provisions of the bill, such as providing a
facilitator for the advisory committee meetings and reimbursement for
travel expenses for members of the advisory committee, could be absorbed
within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact
