LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session March 27, 2001 TO: Honorable Elliott Naishtat, Chair, House Committee on Human Services FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB3487 by Coleman (Relating to a memorandum of understanding for services for persons needing multiagency services.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would require each of the State's health and human services agencies, the Texas Council on Offenders with Mental Impairments, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Workforce Commission, and the Texas Youth Commission to adopt a joint memorandum of understanding to promote a system of local-level interagency staffing groups to coordinate services for persons needing multiagency services. The participating agencies would be required to consult with and solicit input from advocacy and consumer groups. The local-level interagency staffing group would be required to submit a biennial report to the executive director of each participating agency, the legislature, and the governor. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
