LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session April 5, 2001 TO: Honorable Gary Walker, Chair, House Committee on Land & Resource Management FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB3546 by Chisum (Relating to environmental building codes based on energy conservation and the authority of a county to enact environmental building codes based on energy conservation.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill requires the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to appoint an eighteen member Environmental Building Code Advisory Committee and to adopt a Texas Environmental Building Code based on the recommendations of this committee. The bill states that the Environmental Building Code Advisory Committee shall review other energy efficient building codes in order to make a recommendation to TDLR. The bill states that a county may adopt environmental building codes as established by TDLR. The bill is effective September 1, 2001.
