county to enact environmental building codes based on

The bill requires the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
to appoint an eighteen member Environmental Building Code Advisory
Committee and to adopt a Texas Environmental Building Code based on the
recommendations of this committee. The bill states that the
Environmental Building Code Advisory Committee shall review other energy
efficient building codes in order to make a recommendation to TDLR.
The bill states that a county may adopt environmental building codes as
established by TDLR.
The bill is effective September 1, 2001.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
