LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session March 23, 2001 TO: Honorable Senfronia Thompson, Chair, House Committee on Judicial Affairs FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HJR8 by Puente (Proposing a constitutional amendment relating to the election and terms of office of the judges of County Courts at Law Nos. 10, 11, and 12 of Bexar County, Texas.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the * * cost of publication. * * * * The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $80,000. * ************************************************************************** The joint resolution would propose a constitutional amendment changing the election date and term of office for judges in Bexar County Courts at Law No. 10, No. 11, and No. 12. The judges in these courts would be elected and serve a term in the same manner as provided for under general law for county attorneys. This proposed constitutional amendment would be submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 6, 2001. The amendment would take effect on adoption by the voters.
