Local Government Impact

The bill would deny bail to certain offenders, which would result in a
higher number of offenders housed in local jails while awaiting trial.
According to the State Commision on Jail Standards, the average cost per
person per day for housing an offender in county jail is $33.70. The
total local fiscal impact would vary, depending on the number of
offenders denied bail and the amount of time they remain incarcerated
prior to trial.
