The resolution would authorize county commissioners courts to call an
election to abolish the office of constable in the county.

Local Government Impact

If a commissioners court were to hold an election to consider abolishing
the position of constable, the county would incur the cost of an
election. Based on the per registered voter cost from a sampling of
cities and counties, the average per registered voter cost for an
election is $0.91. If the voters were to approve abolishing the
position, it is anticipated that there would be no significant fiscal
impact to the county.
