LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session
April 9, 2001
TO: Honorable Paul Sadler, Chair, House Committee on Public
Education
FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE: HJR98 by Raymond (Proposing a constitutional amendment
to dedicate net revenue from the state lottery to public
school purposes.), As Introduced
**************************************************************************
* No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *
**************************************************************************
The resolution seeks to constitutionally dedicate net lottery proceeds to
public education and reduce other general revenue appropriations for
public education by a like amount. Lottery proceeds are statutorily
dedicated to public education under current law, and therefore this
amendment would have no fiscal implication for the state.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
