The bill would amend the Penal Code by reducing the number of conditions
for which the offense of murder is punishable as a felony of the second
degree. Currently, the offense of murder is punishable as either a
felony of the first degree or a felony of the second degree.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
