The bill is the enabling legislation for the constitutional amendment
proposed by SJR 2. It would allow school districts to donate real
property and improvements, formerly used as a school campus. A school
district would be allowed to make the donation to a municipality,
county, or nonprofit organization.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.

Local school districts are not required to make the donations allowed by
the bill. If they choose to make donations, they will have considered
the revenue implications of not selling but of donating the real
property or improvements.
