Local Government Impact

The bill would create as a misdemeanor offense the purchase of a lottery
ticket by a person under the age of 18. The offense would be punishable
by a fine of up to $250.

Local government would experience a revenue gain of up to $250 per
misdemeanor conviction for the offense set out by the bill. The number
of offenses and convictions will vary among counties and cities;
therefore, the total amount of revenue gain cannot be estimated.
