"Buster" Brown, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB267 by Ogden (Relating to the authority of the Texas Department of Transportation to contract for the management of property used for the mitigation of adverse environmental impacts.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would allow the Texas Department of Transportation to enter into a contract with any public or private entity for the management of property used for the purpose of mitigating adverse environmental impacts in accordance with Federal law. The agency estimates implementing the provisions of the bill would result in an insignificant cost savings for conservation easements, acquisition costs, management, and staff costs. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
