The bill adds a new specialty insurance agent license that authorizes a
landlord or a property manager to solicit property and liability
insurance in connection with the rental of residential property. The
Texas Department of Insurance anticipates a slight revenue gain to the
General Revenue Fund- Dedicated - Texas Department of Insurance Operating
Fund Account No. 036.
The bill would take effect on September 1, 2001.
