Local Government Impact

The bill would allow for an increase in membership on an appraisal review
board in certain districts. Depending on the population size of the
county in which the district exists, the increase could be from 25 to 45
additional appraisal review board members within the district. The bill
would take effect January 1, 2002. District board members are paid per
diem and for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of
board functions. The appraisal district would therefore incur additional
per diem and administrative costs for each board member position added.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
