LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session March 15, 2001 TO: Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB873 by Lindsay (Relating to infrastructure planning in certain urban counties.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Local Government Impact The bill would authorize commissioners courts in a county with a population of 100,000 or more or a county adjacent to a county with a population of 100,000 or more and within the same Metropolitan Statistical Area to adopt rules governing infrastructure planning and allow the county to charge impact fees. According to the Texas Association of Counties, most or all of the costs incurred by implementing the provisions of the bill would be offset by impact fees collected.
