Local Government Impact

The bill would authorize commissioners courts in a county with a
population of 100,000 or more or a county adjacent to a county with a
population of 100,000 or more and within the same Metropolitan
Statistical Area to adopt rules governing infrastructure planning and
allow the county to charge impact fees. According to the Texas
Association of Counties, most or all of the costs incurred by
implementing the provisions of the bill would be offset by impact fees
collected.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
