IN RE: SB1085 by Harris (Relating to the continuation of the

Senate Bill 1085 would amend Section 571.027, Health and Safety Code so
that Section 2110.008 Government Code does not apply to the Advisory
Committee on Inpatient Mental Health Services. This section of the
Government Code addresses the duration of advisory committees. The bill
also repeals Section 4, Chapter 1027, Acts of the 75th Legislature,
Regular Session, 1997, which abolishes the committee on September 1,
2001. The bill would continue existence of this committee.
Reimbursement for travel and related expenses for the committee is
currently authorized in the General Appropriations Act. This action
should result in no new costs or savings to the State.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
