Fiscal Analysis
The bill requires the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)
to select two nursing home pilot sites at participating health-related
institutions to provide research, training, and education regarding
appropriate health care for nursing home residents.
Methodology
THECB assumes that funds to administer and fund the nursing home pilot
sites would be trusteed to them and they would award the funds to the
selected site. THECB would fund one nursing home pilot site per year at
$197,440 each. This cost is equal to the amount awarded to each Family
Practice Residency Program Pilot Project administered by THECB. THECB
assumes that an additional $10,500 would be needed for administrative
and technical support that they would provide. The annual cost for one
nursing home pilot site per year, including administrative costs, would
be $207,940.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
