Methodology The study to be conducted requires two separate surveys. The first would survey parents of children in secondary school throughout the state. The second would survey 18-24 year olds statewide. The University of Texas estimates that 1500 telephone interviews would need to be conducted for the parent survey, and 2500 interviews for the student survey. The total project cost is estimated at $114,450 for researcher salaries in the Office of Survey Research, plus $32,366 in benefit costs, as well as $140,300 in professional services costs. The total of these one-time fiscal year 2002 costs is estimated to be $287,116. These are one-time costs in 2002.
