Local Government Impact

The bill would add new requirements for individuals and corporations
operating in the bail bond business as well as add areas of authority for
regulation by the county bail bond board. Impact to local government
would result from requirements by bail bondsmen and bail businesses to
file applications and deposits with the county treasurer instead of with
the county sheriff, as is the requirement under current statute; the
requirement for a county sheriff to issue the required notarized
certificate verifying that a person meets the requirements for a bond
executed by the bail bond surety outside of the county; and additional
regulatory duties.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
