Local Government Impact

The bill would allow certain municipalities to request that the county
commissioners court of the county in which the municipality is located to
call an election on the issue of designating an alcoholic beverage zone
in a commercial area of the municipality.

If an election is called, the county would incur the costs of the
election. Based on the per registered voter cost in a sampling of
cities and counties, an average per registered voter cost for an
election is estimated to be $0.91.
