Local Government Impact
The bill would authorize a commissioners court to order a referendum on
the question of whether to increase or decrease flood control taxes or
whether to fund a proposed flood control project. Costs incurred would
be for conducting the referendum vote. Based on the cost per registered
voter to hold an election in a sample of cities and counties, the average
cost per registered voter is $0.91.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
