According to the General Land Office (GLO), there will be no significant
fiscal impact to the state should the bill pass. GLO estimates that
passage of the bill may reduce the total number of projects funded due
to the increase in the percentage of state funds used for each project.

Local Government Impact

Local government officials with Galveston county and the
Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments indicated that this bill
would be a savings for coastal counties. The bill would provide a 10%
reduction in costs associated with coastal erosion.
