LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session March 13, 2001 TO: Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB1259 by Gallegos (Relating to the representation of the transportation disadvantaged in mass transportation.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would require at least one member of each transit authority board to be a representative of the transportation disadvantaged. Current board members would be allowed to serve out their terms and the bill would not prohibit those members from being reappointed if they meet appropriate qualifications. The bill would take effect immediately upon receipt of a favorable vote of two-thirds of both houses or on September 1, 2001.
