April 8, 2001
TO: Honorable Mike Moncrief, Chair, Senate Committee on
Health & Human Services

IN RE: SB1299 by Lucio (Relating to the creation and duties of
a task force on rate-setting methodologies for the
Medicaid and state child health plan programs.), As
Introduced
**************************************************************************
* No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *
**************************************************************************
The bill would create a task force on rate setting methodologies in the
State child health and medical assistance programs (Children's Health
Insurance Program and Medicaid). The bill would exempt the task force
from Chapter 2110 of the Government Code and therefore, among other
provisions, reimbursement for travel and related expenses for members of
the task force would not require authorization in the General
Appropriations Act.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
