"Buster" Brown, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB1338 by Ogden (Relating to the authority of the Railroad Commission of Texas to regulate oil and gas NORM waste.), Committee Report 1st House, as amended ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Technology Impact According to the Railroad Commission, the technology impact limited to programming to provide 1) an initial survey of all operators to identify contaminated equipment; 2) a database to store and retrieve data on the equipment; 3) on-going tracking and enforcement. This will include analysis, screen design, and database design and will require an estimated 960 hours of programming for a cost of $115,200. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
