Fiscal Analysis

The bill would allows Parkland Passport holders born prior to September
1, 1930 or veterans who have a service related disability to designate
one guest into any state park without payment of an entrance or
admission fee for the guest.

Methodology

The Parks and Wildlife Department used the following assumptions in its
methodology:
* Number of Parkland Passports visits remains constant at 200,000
(probably conservative since the population over 65 is growing)
* At least half of guests are over 65 and would only pay half-price
otherwise ($150,00 per year) and the other half would pay full price
($300,000 per year).
* Average cost of a park visit is $3.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
