LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session April 26, 2001 TO: Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB1534 by Madla (Relating to the payment of property damages caused by certain counties.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would authorize a commissioners court in a county with a population of less than 15,000 to pay not more than $2,500 as an unbudgeted expenditure to a person for any damages caused to the person's property by the county. If the court amends the budget for payment of damages, they would be required to file a copy of the order amending the budget and a certified statement of reason to the county clerk.
