The bill would authorize a commissioners court in a county with a
population of less than 15,000 to pay not more than $2,500 as an
unbudgeted expenditure to a person for any damages caused to the
person's property by the county. If the court amends the budget for
payment of damages, they would be required to file a copy of the order
amending the budget and a certified statement of reason to the county
clerk.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
