LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session April 17, 2001 TO: Honorable Mike Moncrief, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB1536 by Madla (Relating to the creation of pilot projects for demonstrating the application of technology to the provision of long-term care, community care, and certain other medical assistance.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would allow the Health and Human Services Commission to establish one or more Medicaid pilot projects to demonstrate the application of technology in the provision of services. According to the bill, a project could relate to long-term care, community care and support, rehabilitation, care for the aged or disabled, or other forms of medical assistance. Potentially, a pilot program could have fiscal implications, however, it is assumed the pilot would not (1) increase the number recipients receiving services, (2) increase the level of services, or (3) increase the level of reimbursement for services. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
