The bill would authorize a judge to designate a magistrate, including one
appointed by the judge of another court, to issue protective custody
orders.  This duty would be in addition to the magistrate's other duties
prescribed by other statutes.
  
Local Government Impact
  
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
