Pursuant to a notice posted on March 23, 2001, the House Committee
on Agriculture & Livestock met in a public hearing and was called
to order by the chair, Representative Swinford, at 8:10 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

Absent: Representative Kolkhorst (1).
A quorum was present.
The Chair recognized the following people to offer an update on
foot and mouth disease and BSE:

At 9:55 a.m., on the motion of Representative Hardcastle and
without objection, the meeting was recessed until upon final
adjournment of the House of Representatives.
Pursuant to an announcement made on floor of the House of

1:15 p.m. in E2.014 and was called to order by the chair,
