         Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on General Government,  
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Heflin, at 8:09 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Flores; Luna, Vilma; Pickett;  
                   Puente (5). 
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 9:53 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until adjournment of the House Floor,  
         February 1, 2001. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 11:34 a.m. and was called to order  
         by Representative Heflin. The roll was answered as follows:
